Set up a Drupal content page

Important warning – If you use a word processor to create your articles, and most people will, then you will have problems if you just copy and paste from your word processor to the create content page.

This is because programs like Word embed all sorts of codes that are invisible to the user but will mess up the content creation. Luckily, there is a simple answer and you already have the software you’ll need. If you click on the Start menu and look for Programs and then Accessories you’ll see a program called Notepad. Click on this to open it. Now you can copy from Word to Notepad and then to the create content screen without the problems.

To create a page of content…

  1. Click on Create Content from the left hand menu (when logged in as admin).
  2. Click on information page.
  3. Enter a Title – must have 1-3 words (single line at top of page)
  4. Upload a Top image - narrow image across the top of page
  5. Enter a Headline – This is 2-3 lines of text.
  6. Enter Body text – This is your promise followed by your benefits and consequences.
  7. Add a Reference and Author if needed.
  8. Add the Summary
  9. Upload up to 3 images
  10. Add the Proof
  11. Add any Related articles
  12. Add the Call to action
  13. Click on the Menu settings to assign to a menu and add a weighting.
  14. Click Submit to save it.

If any sections are left blank then the appropriate box is not displayed.

Manage content

Your content can be managed at any time by selecting Content from Content management from the Administer menu. This displays a list of all the content which can then be edited and deleted. Be careful that you don’t accidentally select them all and delete are everything will be lost!
